The Ethnographic Atlas of the Basque Country is an ethnographic research project under the aegis of José Miguel de Barandiaran, which sought to study the traditional culture of the Basque people and its evolution.
En 1965 la Conferencia Internacional de Etnología Europea celebrada en Estocolmo, ante los cambios que se estaban dando en toda Europa, urgía a la realización de atlas etnográficos mediante encuestas de campo que recogieran las características culturales de los grupos humanos y de las sociedades tradicionales.
